The Gillam Foundation Scholarship Program provides a 1-year scholarship to graduating Alaskan high school seniors to be used in their first year of study at a 4-year college or university. First year is defined as no later than the fall of the year immediately following a student's graduation from high school.
In the past 14 years,The Gillam Foundation has awarded scholarships to 250+ Alaskan high school seniors. The Foundation is committed to helping students needing financial assistance to make their higher education goals a reality.
To be eligible, applicants must be graduating from high school in the current academic year, a State of Alaska resident, and accepted to enroll full-time in a 4-year college or university during the first fall semester immediately following their high school graduation. Applicants should intend to pursue coursework in a global commerce field including, but not limited to: business administration, economics, accounting, finance, management, marketing, communications, human resources, computer science, mathematics, securities trading and research, portfolio management, or another technical area.
In addition, applicants must have a high school GPA of 2.75 or greater. Scholastic achievement, financial need, an entrepreneurial skill, and a passion for global commerce are all important considerations in the selection process.
The Foundation aims to award to the winning students a scholarship amount based on that students individual application and score.

Applications Due: By 3:00pm AST, March 15, 2012
Winners Notified: On or before April 16, 2012
